Sneezing in Prayer

Its a good sign for one to sneeze during shomona esrei. If one does sneeze should he feel happy and feel that G-d is accepting his prayers.

Can one be proud of this? At times when my kavanah is lacking, I sneeze and when my kavannah is more in tune to praying I do not sneeze.

Answer:

One can feel “happy” about sneezing during prayer, because the Gemara writes that it is a positive sign. It is possible that this does not apply to somebody who has a cold, who sneezes the whole time in any case, and for whom sneezing during prayer is not much of a novelty.

If a person’s kavanah is lacking, and he sneezes, he does not have much room for being proud of himself, and perhaps he can see the sneeze as a sign that Hashem desires his prayer, and that he should therefore have more kavanah!
