The Written Name Tzevakos

There were signs printed when the Viznitzer Rebbe was nifter last weeking announcing this said news that printed on the sides the words “כי מלאך ה’ צבאות הוא”

Do such words need genizah? Perhaps because of “צבאות”? (if not because of all the words together.) Perhaps the fact that they put a “ה” instead of a name of a HaShem helps…What’s the din?

Answer:

There is no need for genizah on account of the pasuk; it is only part of a pasuk, which is used as a figure of speech, and this will not obligated genizah.

However, the word Tzeva’kos, which should have been written with a kuf, is more of a problem, it being one of the names of Hashem that must not be erased.

The intention is clearly for a name of Hashem (following the Name Hashem written with a Hei), and therefore it appears that the written Name cannot be discarded of.
