Glasses for Meaty & Dairy Meals

If I only have one set of glass cups that is served for both dairy and meat – is that a problem?
Additionally we have a habit of placing them in the dairy sink regardless of which meal was eaten, whther meat or dairy…is that problomatic?

Answer:

It is preferable to use different cups for meaty and dairy meals, for the reason that hot food can come into contact with the cups (both food on the table, and food in one’s mouth).

This ruling applies to Ashkenazim; Sephardim do not need to adopt this practice (although some Sephardim are also stringent, based on the Ben Ish Chai, for the question of cups one can be lenient).

It is fine to place the cups in the milky sink, provided that the cups are not sullied with meat/fat residue.
