Being makneh the clothes to others is a good idea for somebody going to the late on Friday, when actually doing keriyah would be complicated.
This has to be done with a proper halachic transfer (kinyan), and a kinyan sudar is the simplest way.
In general, many frown on the idea of “exchanging clothes,” because this gets round the basic obligation of keriyah.
