Giving Job to Daughter

Someone who gets paid to be magia seforim took a on a job and charged a certain price. He decided to give the work to his daughter and pay her instead (less than what he was getting paid and kept the rest of the money for himself.) Is there any shailo in this?

Answer:

In general, when a person charges a price for a service, there is nothing wrong with giving the job to somebody else to do, provided the person is aware that he is responsible for the finished product, and provided the expected quality of the service won’t be affected.

However, in certain cases, where the service is personal, and it is clear that the client wants the particular service of the person commissioned — for instance for the performance of an operation — the service cannot be given over to somebody else.

In this case, it seems fine to give the service over, provided the conditions above are met.
