During the three weeks and the nine days you are not allowed to listen to music. Is it okay to listen to cybals or beats? but the rest is vocal. Whats considered music?

Answer:

It is permitted to listed to vocal, unaccompanied song (Iggrot Moshe, Yoreh Deah 2:137; Yechaveh Daat 6:34). Note that according to some opinions, it is even forbidden to listen even to purely vocal songs during this time (Tzitz Eliezer 15:33).

The prohibition on music applies to all instruments, and this will apply even to drums.

In addition, the vocal music should not be “happy, fast music,” and a drum accompaniment will usually mean that this is the case.

Best wishes.
