Discarding of Torah Tapes

Do Torah CDs/tapes/other electronic media containing recordings of shiurim require any form of genizah or can they be disposed of regularly once listened to?

Answer:

Torah tapes and other electronic media can be thrown directly into the garbage, and they possess no kedushah.

The reason for this is that kedushah depends on written Torah. Since nothing is “written” on the tapes, and there is only encoded material, there is no kedushah in them, and they can be discarded as fit.

Best wishes.
