Headache as Onas Ha-Guf

What’s l’maseh now a days with a lady that every single time before she gets her vest she gets headaches (there is *never* a time a vest comes without this.) Can this be considered like a vest ha-guf? Can she be koveah it b’ofen she wouldn’t have to be choshesh for any other vest?

Answer:

This is considered a veset ha-guf.

See Niddah 63b, where a headache is mentioned, and see Kisvei Kehilos Yaakov (16; also printed in Orchos Rabbeinu, Vol. 4, p. 60) where he writes that a headache alone is sufficient (though the Gemara mentions a headache and also body pain).

If a woman has a veses ha-guf she does not have to be concerned for other vestos that are not kavua, with the exception of onah beinonis.

However, this applies only for cases in which the veses comes right after the pain, and not where the veses only comes some hours later.

Best wishes.
