Hi there,
I've been seriously dating someone and we've discussed marriage. Just wondering, I go the bathroom often--it's probably a result of a slight prostate infection, but my habits are not noticeable and this does not affect my fertility in anyway. The doctor prescribed some medicine, but i didn't take it because this medicine lowers one sperm.
Do I need to reveal this problem to my future spouse before marriage?
Answer:
I don't think this matter has to be revealed before marriage.
Going to the bathroom often is not a "flaw" of some sort. There are many people who go to the bathroom often: Those who drink much water, pregnant women, and so on - and nobody considers it a "flaw," but rather one of the variables of people's different metabolism and physical condition.
Therefore, refraining from bringing this up is not "bad faith," and I don't see a problem in it.
I hope all goes well, and wish you much success.
Thanks for your very timely response.
I really appreciate it, Rabbi.
