Renting Phone over Shabbos

I am borrowing a cell phone and paying a shekel a day for it. How does this work out regarding שכר שבת?

Answer:

There is no problem of sechar Shabbos, because the rental is not for Torah days (that begin at the onset of Shabbos and terminate at the end of Shabbos), but rather for “regular” days that begin in the morning and end at night.

Thus, even if the rental would be for Shabbos alone, this will not be considered a problem of sechar Shabbos, because the rental period includes time after Shabbos terminates.

Whenever a rental includes a period of time that is not Shabbos or Yom Tov the prohibition of sechar Shabbos does not apply.

Best wishes.
