Taking Down Mezuzos when Selling House

When one sells a home, does one need to leave all the Mezuzos on the doors, or only the front and back door. Can one replace good mezzuzas with cheaper ones.

Answer:

One should leave all the Mezuzos up (if the house is sold to a Jew), but it is fine to replace them with cheaper ones (see Shulchan Aruch, Yoreh De’ah 291:2; Shut Shivas Zion 110).

It is often best to reach an arrangement with the buyer whereby the buyer adds some extra money to buy the Mezuzos from the seller.

Best wishes.
