Drank Before Serving as Witness

Can one who drank a bit at the chosson’s tisch serve as an eid for the kesubah if he is certainly not drunk. If you can point out any sources for me that would help.

Answer:

Yes, there is no reason for him not to serve as an eid.

Only somebody who reaches the drunkenness of Lot becomes disqualified for serving as a witness (see Shulchan Aruch, Even Ha-Ezer 44:3; Nisu’im Kehilchasa Chap. 8, no. 43). Somebody who has only sipped a little is certainly far from this level, and is perfectly qualified to serve as a witness.

Best wishes.
