Carrying on Sukkos

I have a question referring to Sukkot: Can you carry on Sukkot?

Answer:

Like other Yamim Tovim, it is permitted to carry on Sukkos. Yom Tov is different from Shabbos in this respect, for on Shabbos it is forbidden to carry without an eruv, whereas it is permitted to carry on Yom Tov.

However, note that it is only permitted to carry for a purpose, and where there is no purpose it remains forbidden to carry even on Yom Tov (see Shulchan Aruch and Rema, Orach Chaim 495; Biur Halachah (concerning the opinion of the Shulchan Aruch; see also Shulchan Aruch, 495:2, who forbids carrying for the purpose of a non-Jew).

Best wishes.
