Why is it important that husband and wife has relations after midnight/chatzos rather then during the day and what consequences would that have for the children born from that union.
Thank you very much for your time,
Answer:
This concept is based on a kaballah idea whereby it is improper to have relations before midnight.
The reason for this is that the night, before midnight, is a time when negative forces are prominent, and the time of night that heads towards day – from chatzos and on – is therefore specifically appropriate for relations.
Note that this concept is not mentioned by mainstream halachic authorities, and for many people being meticulous in this might be detrimental to the husband-wife relationship (and therefore unjustified). To my knowledge, it is generally practiced only by “kaballah hard-liners.”
Even according to the kaballah sources who endorse the concept, I don’t recall any statement concerning the nature of children born from relations before/after midnight.
Best wishes.
