Can Jews Have Girlfriends

Can Jews have girlfriends?

Answer:

A girlfriend, in the modern sense of the concept, is a partner with whom one engages in a close and intimate boy-girl relationship.

In Judaism this closeness between man and woman is reserved for the sanctity of marriage, a relationship of dedication and trust. This is why a girlfriend-boyfriend relationship is considered wrong (we have touched on the issue here in a different context).

Best wishes.
