Yet, if the baby was born on the previous Shabbos - meaning from Friday night (after nightfall) until Saturday night (before sunset) - one can and must perform the bris milah on Shabbos.
If the baby was born between sunset and nightfall either on Friday or on Shabbos, a rabbi must be consulted.
If the bris milah is delayed (it is a delayed bris, due to illness of the baby) it is not permitted to have the bris on Shabbos.
