If the door closes in a way that the mezuzah cannot be paved in front of the door, is it better to place the mezuzah on the [inner] doorpost behind the door or on the wall/front of doorpost? What about if placing the [inner] doorpost would result with the mezuzah being more than a tefach away from the exterior of the room?
Answer:
I am not so clear about the question. However, in general it is permitted to affix the mezuzah anywhere on the doorpost, and this does not have to be in front of the door (it can be on either side of the door, or even “inside” the doorpost itself).
