Shehachayanu on cufflinks?
would the price of the cufflinks matter or how much one really wanted and likes them?
Answer:
If a person is happy with the purchase, then it is appropriate to make Shehecheyahu on cuff-links.
One does not make Shehecheyahu on things that generally don’t generate simcha. However, this is very much the exception to the rule (see for instance the debate concerning a tallis kattan, and Rav Moshe’s ruling whereby one can make Shehecheyahu even on pajamas, here).
Cuff-links are a form of jewelry, and they are suitable for Shehecheyahu under the appropriate circumstances.
Best wishes.
