Meat in Nine Days for Nursing

My wife is nursing our 2 month old baby and doesn’t really eat so many dairy or fish dishes that results the baby to cry a lot since she doesn’t have what to nurse could my wife eat meat now in the 9 days?

Answer:

Under the circumstances, and if fish and dairy dishes are not a reasonable option, there is no problem to eat meat, if this is required for the nursing baby.

She should preferably eat poultry rather than meat. If possible, both should be avoided in the week of Tisha Be’Av itself – but only if this will not be detrimental to nursing and if there is no alternative (nuts etc. are also a possible alternative).

In the Seudah Mafsekes it is forbidden to eat meat.

Best wishes.
