Frozen Soup on Shabbos

Is a frozen soup muktza on shabbos?

If a cold drink is placed in the freezer for too long and froze can one remove it on Shabbos to allow it to defrost for a while and then drink it?

Answer:

Yes, frozen soup is muktzeh, because it is not permitted to thaw it and drink it. This is a problem of nolad.

The same applies to the cold drink. It is permitted to “eat it,” but not to thaw it and drink it. It can, however, be used as “ice cubes” in another liquid, and even if it melts it is permitted to drink. The reason for this is that the melting is not “discernible” and therefore permitted.

Best wishes.
