Megillah for Others

Shalom,
When a person who’s already fulfilled their obligation to read Megillah reads for someone who has not, who should recite the blessings? What if the listener is a woman?
Thank you.

Answer:

A person who reads again for somebody who has not read should recite the Berachos as usual. Some say that the listener should recite the blessings, and both practices are fine.

If the listener is a woman there are different opinions as to the text of the berachah (some substitute “hearing” instead of “reading” the Megillah), but many recite the regular beracah.

Best wishes.

For women see Turei Even Megillah 4a and see Mordechai; according to the Rambam and many others, the berachah for women is the same as men.
