Kavod Harav,
I have a friend who is not Jewish. I believe that one day she will convert, though she has not expressed such sentiment. I believe this because of her love and devotion to G-d and Torah. (she doesn’t know that Torah is only for Jews to keep) Anyway, she asked if she could join us for a meal on Shabbat. Is this permissable? If not, what are the issues involved? Could the Rav provide sources? Thank you
Answer:
You may host a non Jew for a Shabbat meal. On Yom Tov there is a concern of cooking for a non Jew, as cooing is permitted for Jews on Yom Tov. Generally conversion is not encouraged, but if she is a friend expressing real interest you may host her for a meal.
