Classes at Catholic University

I attend classes at a Catholic university, there are crucifixes in every single room (with a body of you know who on all of them, whether that makes a difference or not). They all vary in size and ‘ornateness.’ Should I make a concerted effort to sit as far away as possible from them when in the classroom if this is an option? They appear to not be used directly in any formal ceremony, since it’s a classroom after all.

Answer:

This would be commendable as a sensitivity towards facing such items. There would seem to not be any actual halachic obligation to do so.
