Short Menstrual Cycles

My husband and I are trying to have a baby. I have short menstrual cycles and did an ovulation test and am ovulating before I go to the mikveh. What should we do so I can become pregnant?

Thanks

Answer:

This is a common issue and usually very easily treatable, you should see your OB/GYN who could prescribe medication that will push off the ovulation. She may recommend a more advanced test for ovulation as the over the counter tests are not always accurate.

If it is only off by one day and you could do a hefsek tahara after 4 days [i.e. the bleeding stopped] you can count 4 and 7 [clean days], instead of the usual 5 and 7. Generally this is not the case, as the ovulation is beinf missed by more than one day or the bleeding lasts for 5 days.
