Dear Rabbi,
Are foil single wrapped baked potatoes baked in a meat oven at the same time as a partially covered meat dish treated as meat or can they be treated as pareve (eaten with dairy)?
Answer:
If they were fully covered and placed on a clean surface [grates or in a pan], they may be considered pareve. If the meat dish was solid without liquid, the potatoes may be eaten with dairy. If a liquid meat dish was exposed, because of the concern of steam going from it to the potatoes one should not eat the potatoes with dairy.
