A person should not cut tzitzit string with a metal object. Can a person trim Shabbos candles or cut them with a metal scissor or knife?
Answer:
Candles may be cut with metal. Tzitzis have a unique custom because they have the merit to bring long life, so we don’t cut with “sword” like instrument which contradicts this message. This would not apply in other areas.
