If one has started reciting the bracho of yotzer ohr and suddenly realizes that he is about to miss zman krias shema (and if he finishes yotzer ohr + ahava rabba, he will miss it), what should he do?
Answer:
One is allowed to interrupt the ברכות ק”ש to say the shemah on time, just as one can say פיוטים in the middle of ברכות ק”ש.
