Relatives allowed to be eidei kiddushin

What relatives are allowed to be eidei kiddushin? (especially considering the stance that there not be any room to call the kiddushin in question)

Even though distant relatives can be witnesses together, the prevalent custom is that the two witnesses should not be related in any way what so ever.
