sterializing a dog

Question:

Shalom,

I understand it is forbidden to sterilize a dog oneself or through a non Jew. However if one is buying a dog can he tell the non Jew that he will only buy a/the dog if it has been sterilized, knowing that the non Jew will sterilize the dog in question. It seems this would be permitted as i do not yet own the dog and am not doing the sterilization myself. Could you please share your thoughts on this.

Answer:

By telling the non Jew  that he will only buy the dog if it has been sterilized might be like telling him explicitly to do so.
