Question:

Hi is it possible to change your Jewish name? And if yes how would you do it?

Answer:

As I wrote to you in a previously person has ownership over his name so therefore if he decides to drop a name and adopt another name he is entitled to do so. For a new name to become legitimate it has to be used for at least 30 days. If the fist name is not used at all it is forgotten and dismissed. One should also take into consideration that changing a name might upset family members.
