Two kiddushim combined

Question:

We’re IY”H making a kiddush for our son’s bar mitzvah this Shabbos. Our neighbor wants to make a kiddush for his new baby girl this Shabbos as well. (The baby was born several weeks back; he wants to do it this week for convenience.) Is there a reason not to have both kiddushim the same week in order not to mix one simcha with another?

Answer:

First of all I would like to wish you a heartiest Mazel Tov. May you only enjoy yiddisher nachas from him in good health. No problem to have a combined kiddush, it is done in many places.
