Question:
I have worked for the same school for 20 years. Every year they offer direct deposit. Every year I say yes the first year they offered I gave them my paperwork and every year since then I say the information has not changed. This past August, Chase Bank offered a 300 dollar incentive to open an account and use direct deposit by September 30 and for at least 6 months after. So, in August i gave the school my new direct deposit info. But on September 30 they deposited the money into the old account. The incentive has expired. Does the school owe me for the loss? or do they owe me an apology?or both?
Answer:
They certainly owe you an apology but since the damage was indirect you cannot claim the loss from them
