Question:
How should one deal with the fact that the shulhan aruch says you can’t say hello to a woman and the fact that if you do so in today’s society it will be very insulting? Is there any leeway with this halacha?
Answer:
Since now days saying hello is only a formality, the observance of rules of convention or etiquette, many poskim permit it.
