Question:

Please see 10:9. How could they have so many possessions if they had been slaves?

Answer:

You are bringing up an interesting point.  The Jews were slaves to Pharoh, and enslaved to work for the Egyptians, but they never bought them, in the sense that they had none of their own possessions. They could have inherited a lot of things from Yaakov and his sons.
