Question:
Was it tradition between jews in 1 century AD to bury a person with doned tefillin? Is it possible that Jesus Christ had put a tefillin when he was crucified? Is it possible that Jesus Christ was buried with tefillin?
Answer:
I am not familiar with any such tradition. If anything the dead person is not supposed too be wearing tefillin, as he is exempt from mitzvos. In Jewish law a man that is stoned is not wearing clothing, surely not tefillin that is considered a crown.
