Question:
My wife's grandparents were'nt religous, her grandma passed away 23 years ago, so it definately wasn't used since then, she says maybe even 40 years ago it was last used. By china i guess thats ceramic, could we kasher it and use it for ourselves?

My apologies that it took a while to get back to you.
Unfortunately ceramic dishes and utensils cannot be kashered, as it will not totally expel what is absorbed inside it. This applies even if it wasn't used for a very long time. You may however use the ceramic things for things that are not used for hot food.
