Question:
The plastic boxes which I wrap my tefillin in, when I put them away, have broken. Should I put them in Shims, or may I wrap them and throw them away?
Answer:
They should be put into shaimos, and not merely put into the garbage in a bag. This is because the boxes that the teffilin are kept in are considered tashmishei kedusha, therefore they have to into shaimos.
