Shalom. Could there be an issue with painting my (silver) Chanukiah in metallic gold? Thank you.
Answer:
There is no problem painting your menorah. The point of having a silver menorah is not intrinsic to silver, but because silver is prominent. Gold is even better. You just have to make sure that after it is painted it looks nice for the mitzvah.
