Question:

Sometimes the door buzzer in our building jams which provides for continuous access without a need for using a key. If this happens on Shabbat, is there a problem with opening the door? Since the buzzer is jammed which basically keeps the door unlocked and I don’t think opening the door interrupts the electric current, there doesn’t seem to be an issue, at least in my mind. Please provide your feedback on this matter. Thanks for your help.

Answer:

From what you are saying it seems that you are correct, that if there is no difference in the electric current, that it is alright. :
