Can I give my wife a gift for Yom Tov even though she is in the year of avelus ?? Is simchas Yom Tov considered different then stam Simcha during the year ??
Answer:
When one is in the aveilus year they should not be given presents, even for yom tov. She may however buy herself a dress, but someone will have to wear it for a day or two before she does in order to take the newness out of it.
