Bugs in Vitamins

Question:

I was wondering if there is a concern about bugs in vitamins that contain fruits and vegetables that are not under the heimish brands but are certified Kosher. Does the certification also mean that it is bug free? Can they be used?

Answer:

When a certifying agency gives certification to a finished product, such as vitamins, where you would not be able to check for bugs on your own, it will usually include the issue of bugs. As a side point, even if there were bugs in the fruits that were used, they already became nullified, in the manufacturing of the vitamins.
