On Leil HaSeder can one drink red or white wine according to preference? Can one drink fizzy wine?
Answer:
Red wine is preferable to white wine. One of the reasons is because it is a reminder to the blood of the Jews that Pharaoh spilled. However if the white wine is more prominent, you can use the white wine. If you are going to use white wine, you can make it red by adding some red wine to it to give it a red color. This should preferably be done before Yom Tov, because coloring the wine on Shabbos or Yom Tov would be tzovaiah according to some authorities. Alternatively you can add the white wine to the red wine on Shabbos or Yom Tov, as that would surely not be an issue of tzovaiah.
You may drink fizzy wine for the 4 cups.
