Making Raisins Without Bugs and Worms

Question:

Thank you for your wonderful website. Your instructions to make raisins without bugs says to use a temperature of "2300-2500 F." Do you mean bake them at 230 to 250 degrees F?

"Raisins without bugs can be made at home in a household oven: Dry grapes, after cleaning them, at a temperature of 2300-2500 F (1100-1200 C) for about three hours (it’s best to keep the oven door slightly open). When the raisins are ready, they should be kept in the refrigerator or freezer. (For instructions for cleaning grapes, see “Grapes”.)"

Answer:

Yes you are very right! If you dry grapes at 2500 degrees not only will there be no bugs, you won't have any raisins either! It is a typo because the OF is supposed to be a small upper minimized font. Sorry for the misunderstanding.
