Question:
I have a pareve knife that i keep pareve. I have huge bulky cold cut loafs that i need to cut and the only knife that would do the job is the pereve knife. Can i use it and wash it but it should stay pareve?
Answer:
It is permitted, as long as you make sure that the knife gets washed off well from any oils or fat of the meat. So the knife should not be washed off in hot water. As a side point you would not be able to do this with a milky knife, and it is permitted only because the knife is pareve.
