Question:
Hello, I accidentally ate a piece of cake on a plate with dairy utensils. Afterwards, I realized the cake was not kosher (i.e., the ingredients were kosher but the product did not have a hasgacha). Is there any way to make the plate/utensils kosher again? Thank you.
Answer:
Assuming that the cake was not hot, all you have to do is wahsh everything off with soap and water that is not hot, making sure that everything is indeed clean, and then you are fine. Ther reason is because the food, even if it isn’t kosher will not impart taste to the utensils if it wasn’t hot.
