I understand the principle of the tosefet, but I don’t understand the logic of this sentence – “and he added TO HER from his possessions an amount of 100 zekukim”. Is TO HER the right way to understand “לה” in this phrase? As in “to the bride”? It doesn’t really make sense to me – he is adding the tosefet to the previously mentioned amount, not adding it to his bride. Please clarify what לה is referring to. Thank you!

It means that he is adding to the money that he is giving to her. If it would mean that he is merely adding to the amount of money that he is giving, it should say “עליה”, which would mean on to it.
