Question:

when one says tehillim by a matzeivah spelling out the name of the niftar, does one spell out the name of the father too, i.e. ploni ben ploni or does the first name suffice?

Answer:

There are different minhagim regarding this. In chutz la’aretz, many have the minhag to also say the father’s name and then the letters of the word neshoma. In E. Yisroel many have the minhg to only say the name of the niftar and the letters of nishama.
