Dear Rabbi,
What must be known of the halacha of yahrzeit. Must a candle be lit at a time specific. Can you light early or prefer a sunrise lighting or just in not blow it out upon new day?

Answer:
It is preferable to light the candle so it will be lit the whole day of the yahrtzeit. Meaning that it should be lit before sundown and stay lit until the next night. If it burns longer than the next night we let it continue to burn until it burn out.
