Meat oven and fish

Question:

An oven is used primarily for meat. It has grease residue. Can someone bake fish or make a fish meal in this “meat” oven? Can one bake fish in this oven after 24-48 hours? Whats the time frame? Please answer fully.

Answer:

  1. If the oven has residue of meat in it on should not bake uncovered fish in this oven because it will mix with the residue of the meat.
  2. If there is grease there, 24 or 48 hours will not matter. The idea of aino ben yomom only applies to absorbed taste ( bliyos), but not to b’en (actual residue)
