My wife and daughter passed away in mid-October of 2018. We are thinking of having the unveiling of their tombstones on Sunday, Oct. 6th 2019 - which falls during the days between Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippor.
Is there any concerns or is it considered special to have the unveiling during that period?

There are no concerns and it may be done then. In fact there are opinions that it is even a preferred time, since during days of selichos are day of soul searching and introspection.
